Grandmaster since 1987 (at that time the youngest in the World).

Yugoslav Champion 1988.

Won with Bosnian team silver medal on OL Moscow 1994.

Dutch Champion 1995 & 1998.

Won many GM top events out which most important are Biel A, Hastings, Sarajevo, Selfoss, Reykjavik, Hoogeveen, Lost Boys, Staunton memorial, World Open Philadelphia, Politiken Cup, Rilton Cup, etc.

Has beaten in a classical time control games 8 World champions: Carlsen, Kasparov, Kramnik, Anand ,Topalov , Ponomariov, Khalifman, Smyslov.

With Chess Club Bosna won European Clubs Championship 4 times (being team captain 3 times).

In 2000 won European Individual Rapid Championship.

In 2000 won European Individual Blitz Championship.

Won with a Dutch team gold on European teams 2005 in Gothenburg.

In 2009 shared first on European Individual chess championship.

In May, 2010, successfully performed function of tournament director in Bosna Open 2010 (82.500,-euro prize fund) one of the biggest Opens in the World in 2010.

On European team championships 2013 in Warsaw, Poland, won two individual gold medals. One gold medal for the best board two performance and one gold medal for the best overall performance.
